I was given my first horse when I was four years old. She was a pony named Star. It was on Star that I ran my first barrel & pole pattern. I rode Star until I was seven years old. My parents bought me a Quarter horse mare, Tuffett, and I began going to horse shows. She was very well trained for these shows and we won a lot of awards. I also did a lot of trail riding and took care of all our horses. We still have Tuffett but she is retired now at age 21.

My mom started taking me up to Nevada to visit with her best friend & family. Her daughter was in high school at the time and competing in High School Rodeo. Jenny (the daughter) was the leading barrel racer in the Nevada High School Rodeo circuit! I decided to stay in Nevada that summer and go to rodeos with them. I stayed for a month and a half and had a great time É I even won some money!

The next summer, when I went to Nevada, they had found a horse for us to buy and train for barrels and poles so I stayed up there and rode "Doc" and we brought him home to start rodeoing in Arizona.

Doc was slow to get the idea of barrels & poles but, he is coming around real well. We started High School Rodeo in 1996 and have really enjoyed it. Then, in the summer of 1997, my parents bought me a second horse, a mare named Lilly. During the summer we traveled on the weekends to barrel races all over the eastern part of Arizona.

Rodeo kids, RODEOHigh School Rodeo and Arizona Jr Rodeo started in September and we have started traveling all over the state now. We haul both Lilly and Doc. Lilly is good in small arenas and for poles, Doc is good for barrels in a large arena so we take them both and after arriving I decide which one to use. I am doing really well and I am enjoying doing this.

I hope to be sponsored someday by a large company and compete all over the nation. I would like to earn some scholarships to go to college. I want a career in Animal Science. I enjoy my horses and hope to spend my life with them.
