Pinnacle Peak PatioMy first visit to Pinnacle Peak Patio was nearly three decades ago. As a relative newbie to Arizona, I was quite enchanted by the rustic, cowboy-style decor although, I must admit, I'd asked, "You're kidding, we're going in there?" when the vehicle came to a stop after what seemed ages going across the desert from Phoenix to arrive at the location. All I had been told in advance was that we'd be going for dinner on an outdoor patio, on the evening of an eclipse. I was, shall we say, a bit over-dressed. Back then, it really was wide open desert - with all the wonderment that holds for a city gal from "back east" - and I'm rather certain there was only one, rather cozy, outdoor patio. Today, Scottsdale is maturing into a beautiful city from it's small town stature of three decades ago and Pinnacle Peak Patio has grown to become one of the hot spot locations to visit and enjoy a bit of old west nostalgia while enjoying a mesquite grilled steak or other food item from their menu. Pinnacle Peak Patio serves steak, baby back ribs and chicken. They have a children's menu and a selection of deserts. There are several outdoor dining patios that may be open at different times of the year, a large dance floor, live music, and a well-stocked saloon. The ceilings are covered with neckties - neckties from those unsuspecting folks that have come to pay a visit with family or friends here in Arizona and been lured out to a "that necktie has seen its last day" cowboy steakhouse. If visiting Scottsdale, be sure to visit Pinnacle Peak Patio - the drive isn't nearly what it had been 30 years ago but the steaks are still huge and still cooked to perfection.
